Simple Oreo Truffles

December 31, 2011 by: Brian

Was needing a very simple and sweet snack  to ring in the New Year (2012) with some friends and I asked the wife to make her Oreo Truffles which are terribly easy, terribly addictive, and terribly AMAZING!  This recipe and variations have been circulating the Interwebs for years, but it is a great go-to for friendly gatherings.  We decided to do the traditional chocolate (for her) and white chocolate (for ME!). Without further ado:

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages Oreo Cookies (crushed)
  • 2 (8oz) packages of Cream Cheese
  • 2 packages White Chocolate Chips
  • 2 packages BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate

Directions:

  1. In a blender or food processor, mix softened cream cheese and cookies.
  2. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Put in freezer for about 20 minutes.
  3. Dip balls into melted chocolate and place back on cookie sheet.  Put truffles back in fridge to set.
  4. Drizzle leftover chocolate on truffles.
  5. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Makes 100 truffles, mix and match white and chocolate.  These will be gone in no time flat!

    Hi,

How long can these chocs be left outside?

    Cheers!

We haven’t been able to keep them around long enough to actually find out! But normally we can set these out for a few hours during the party/gathering.

We make these but just mix the Oreos and softened cream cheese in a ziploc bag, crush Oeros in bag first, add cream cheese and smoosh it around in your hands to mix. They are AMAZING! And so easy! Thanks Brian!
P.S. They can set out for quite awhile. Like the entire length of a late into the evening party!
